Athena Boxing’s female fighters made a resounding statement at the Golden Girl Box Cup in Sweden, securing an impressive 12-medal haul, including five golds, five silvers, and two bronzes. The tournament, known as Europe’s most prestigious all-female boxing competition, saw Athena’s rising stars go toe-to-toe with elite-level opponents from across the continent.
Leading the charge was the sensational Tete Mayo, who dominated her division with power, precision, and relentless aggression. Her outstanding performance in Sweden was only the beginning, as she went on to win the English National Title, solidifying her reputation as one of England’s most exciting young boxing talents.
Equally spectacular was Jessie Chambers, pictured below who defied all odds by clinching gold in just her sixth career bout. Her ability to remain composed under pressure, execute sharp footwork, and land decisive counter-punches saw her outbox more experienced opponents on her way to victory.
Among the other standout performances:
- Dominika from Bolsover captured gold in spectacular fashion, securing a first-round stoppage in the semi-final before engaging in a thrilling, all-action battle to win the final.
- Fleur from Lion’s Den took home silver after an intense, back-and-forth showdown, narrowly losing to a strong Danish opponent.
- Tee Tee of Leicester Railway put on a remarkable display, showing grit and skill throughout the competition.
The success of Athena Boxing at the Golden Girl Box Cup is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and world-class coaching behind these athletes.
“This is an incredible achievement for our fighters,” said Athena’s coaching team, who played a vital role in preparing the squad. “To bring home 12 international medals is no small feat. Tete and Jessie’s performances were phenomenal, and every single one of our fighters showed heart, skill, and determination.”
With this triumph, Athena Boxing Charity continues to cement itself as a force in women’s boxing. Their fighters are proving that the East Midlands is a breeding ground for champions—and this is just the beginning.
Next stop? Even greater heights on the international stage.

Fantastic Jesse, we’ll done to you and your team.
